Gundello Godari starring Lakshmi Manchu,Taapsee, Aadhi and Sundeep Kishan in lead roles is confirmed to be releasing on March 8 .The makers of the movie have decided to release the movie on the Womens Day as a dedication to all women. It was also confirmed that the Tamil version of Gundello Godari titled Maranthen Mannithen will also be releasing on the same day . The movie has already been censored and it has been given a U certificate.

The movie was originally supposed to release in December but the producers plan to release the movie simultaneously in tamil and telugu and the unavailability of theatres because of other big releases in tollywood has delayed the movies release.

Having born and brought up in Godavari, it was but natural for debut director Kumar Nagendra to weave a story around the river. Nagendra a self-professed fan of Ilayaraja also got the maestro to give fabulous music for the film Gundello Godari.

The movie is based on four lives during the 1986 floods in Godavari districts.
