Telugu film audiences and filmmakers have drawn themselves away from good and purposeful cinema for a long time. A film should be made to sustain the interest of audiences. If giving message is the purpose, the makers can spend 1/10th of the budget and give advertisements about the message in the media. Naa Bangaru Thalli is one of the very few Telugu films that touched a delicate point in the recent times and yet made sure that it’s an interesting watch to the theatrical audiences.

For formula struck Telugu audience who just love to entertain themselves with stale comedy tracks and unrealistic heroism, reality and hard hitting truths behind dark lives of prostitutes and the real mafia behind this sex trafficking are definitely alien subjects. Those who buy tickets for 2 hours or 2:30 hours of fun for forgetting the personal cum professional tensions, ‘NBT’ is not for you. Watch it for excellent performance from Anjali Patil, Siddiqui and if you feel it’s our job to encourage a National award winning Telugu film, try to grab a ticket

The film takes its own time to establish the father-daughter bond and through a few sporadic incidents, shows the young girl’s anger when she comes across instances of sexual harassment. There is a sense of lurking danger as the director keeps viewers guessing as to what will shatter this close-knit family

Where the writing is rather splendid is in driving home the message that certain women have retained their humanity and generosity even though they were at the end of masculine terror. When the father says 'Naa bangaru talli..', contrite and grief-stricken, he almost sounds like devil chanting Goddess' name. This is the script's achievement, undoubtedly. Films like these serve the purpose of raising our consciousness and there is no better way of conveying the point other than narrating a tragedy from the victim's standpoint. The film does just this.

On the whole, Na Bangaru Talli is a film straight from the heart. It opens your eyes and shows the harsh realities of life quite convincingly. Anjali Patil’s performance and some thrilling moments stand out. All those who want to see films with a message and sensibility need to definitely give this film a shot.
