Coming up with a family entertainer that is mixed with some action and romance is a safe bet but it must be infused with the right kind of energy and emotional peaks to ensure audience likes it. In this film, the first half is somewhat smooth and has few elements of light humor, action and romance.
Rating: 3.0/5
Srikanth Addala who has delivered films with natural moments and undercurrent drama has upped the action quotient to deliver Mukunda. Mukunda is a film that deals with municipality politics and has a strange conflict point of hero upsetting villain for the sake of a friend. Plus points of the film are characterizations, dialogues, cinematography and actors (Rao Ramesh and Varun Tej). The flipside, screenplay and lack of direct conflict for hero/villain and passive romance thread dilutes the impact. We have to wait and see how ordinary moviegoer embrace the movie.
Rating: 2.75/5
Sans loudness and crassness, Mukunda has a scent of SVSC. But it lacks a good story and barring less than four scenes, it hardly has anything to keep up our interest
Rating: 2.75/5
On the whole, Mukunda is an ok launch pad for Varun Tej. This handsome mega family hero has good screen presence and is set for a bright future in Tollywood. But other factors like lack of comedy, entertainment and romance limit Varun’s debut to an extent. Finally, if you go in without any expectations and an open mind, you might end up liking this different attempt.
Rating: 2.5/5
Mukunda is an offbeat film from a Mega Family hero. The success depends upon how audience receive it.
Rating: 2.5/5
To sum it up, Mukunda marks a decent debut for Varun Tej, but fails as a movie. You may watch it for Rao Ramesh's career defining performance and Mayer's soundtrack. Mega debut gone wrong.
Rating: 2.5/5
Finally, this flick has got good action sequences and few family related scenes. Hence, Varun Teja played safe in his debut flick. The budget which was allocated to this flick too was high and hence it may become a bit tough for this venture to get into the profits zone. As per the trade report, around 22 Crores were spent on this flick. Considering Christmas and New Year, we can expect that this flick may touch that mark at the box office. Finally, this venture is an average debut to Varun Tej!
Rating: 2.5/5
A feel good typical movie. Watch for Varun tej because it is his debut. Don’t judge a book with the cover page. Give it a try.
Rating: 2.5/5
While one section of the audience might relate to Addala’s style of story-telling, others may find it serious and boring to their liking. Serious Drama
Rating: 2.5/5
Mukunda is an unusual debut for a Mega hero. Srikanth Addala tried his best in utilizing different talents of Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde likes dialogue delivery and expressions, respectively. But failed in giving importance to their characters. Mukunda is not a regular commercial film, yet gives a pleasant experience for the family audiences in this Holiday Season.
Rating: 2.25/5
Down and Out Debut of Varun Tej.ommercially, ‘Mukunda’ would be a dampener in lower class centres. Their wait to see Varun Tej gave an unpleasant result. In metros and ‘A’ class areas, we need to wait and see.
Rating: 2.25/5
Mukunda falls short of mega fans expectations.Though story is good Srikanth could have made stronger impact had he concentrated on the above points. Lack of comedy, lack of romance, highlighting only on side characters undid all the hard work. Dialogues and kind of language used for Rao Ramesh will be over the heads of masses and even class viewers will find it difficult to digest.

Mukundha is for Varun Tej what Gauravam is for Allu Sirish. May be it is a bit better than Gauravam but will do no good to the first timer in any way. This is definitely a script that should not be preferred for a debutant. Finally it ends up as a disappointment for Varun Tej as well as the audience.

Mukunda has its moments in its initial scenes, but gets very boring post-intermission. The drama between the leads never builds up, nor does the story agrees to step ahead, resulting in a below average film, thanks to few songs! Watch it, if you really have to.

It seemed a complete waste of time..I would say it was a pointless movie. Yes, I agree that Rao Ramesh is wonderful actor and portrayed his character powerfully. But, his dialogue delivery seemed similar to the style he adopted in SVSC. The music is so wonderful but seems completely pointless in the movie. The lyrics and songs are beautifully shot and would make a great watch separately, but within the movie, they make no sense. I couldn't understand what Srikanth Addala was trying to do here. It sure is an experimental movie but well, I couldn't follow the message he wanted to give. For me, its a wasted opportunity. And I believe the director and the script is at fault here...not the team.
