I’ movie has taken Indian Cinema to the next level with its VFX execution. P C Sreeram’s camera work has an international appeal to it. Director Shankar has given the audience the Hollywood experience with this movie. Vikram has given a mind blowing performance and his dedication towards getting into the skin of such a complex character deserves special mention. Stunts have been choreographed excellently.

While the waif-like Amy looks mesmerising, Vikram bowls you over with a heart-wrenching performance whether he is handsome or disfigured. Santhanam provides the perfect comic relief. The first fight in a local gymnasium and the BMX bike fight on Chinese rooftops are an adrenaline fix. This is pure escapist fare but will resonate with those who read fairy tales at bedtime.

On an average, this flick turned out to be a tough competition to the Telugu films for this Pongal season. With Vikram’s avatars, Amy Jackson’s beauty and Shankar’s marvelous directional skills, “I” is racing ahead with good visuals. This venture can be considered as an above average one and we have to wait for the box office reports to know whether this flick is a high level blockbuster or not.

Overall, this is a film which must be watched for its production values and style than the emotional substance. At the box office, the openings will be massive and success would depend on the word of mouth publicity.

Keeping the story aside, we have hell to discuss about the technicalities of the film. 'I' is one of the most expensive movies in Indian cinema till date. Director Shankar who generally thinks out of the box, gave us another visual treat. The story is a partially routine one but the way, it was executed, Shankar should be given a pat.

I has turned out to be a trend setter as promised. Be it visuals, action sequences, VFX and make-up, all these factors in the movie have surely taken South Indian cinema to the next level thanks to outstanding visualization by Shankar and his technicians to bring the director’s dream alive on-screen.

I is totally a Vikram picture through Shankar's eye [I]. They are to be appreciated for their work and efforts and mostly the trust they have for one another. First half of Vikram's I is a lyrical treat with Lingesan, Diya and their love story, while the counterpart seem just disclosure. On the whole, I is a treat to Chiyaan fans and an example of excellence in parts.

On the whole, ‘I’ is surely Shankar’s weakest film till date. Excessive length, weak story and lack of emotional connect are basic drawbacks. But keeping the festival season in mind, Shankar’s grand visuals added with Vikram and Amy Jackson’s mind blowing performance, this film can be given a shot. Only thing you need to do is go in without any expectations whatsoever.

hankar came with an interesting story of villains turning hero a body builder and model into a hunchback. He could with all his creative brilliance have turned it into a suspense thriller. however Shankar much to the shock of all failed in his screenplay and direction. Main drawback is duration of the film. Seems Shankar did not do his home work on script of the film and failed completely as a director. The whopping budget was wasted for this mediocre film.

n un-Shankar film that is as predictable a run-of-the-mill revenge pseudo-thriller. The film comes into its own only in the last 30-odd minutes. Nothing worthy about thrills or the dialogues.

There are various factors that have made people curiously looked forward for the release of “I”. The first and foremost factor remains the different avatars of Vikram. The next comes is Shankar factor. The director’s films have never fell short of expectations and his works have got better film after film. People are praising Vikram’s dedication and Shankar’s screenplay after watching the film.

A model turning into a hunchback and taking revenge against the wrongdoers is the main plot of I. This could have been a slick thriller with racy screenplay and thrilling moments. However I is stretched too long for more than three hours without proper reason. Seems like Shankar just had an idea on mind and simply wrote a rough draft of script for it and went on to make a movie. There are far too many boring sequences in the film which will force you to take a break.

A big director coming together with a big hero is usually a sure-shot hit. But sometimes, two big names can really up the expectations and that mars its BO performance. 'I' could turn out to be one such film, at least in Telugu

A monumental effort has gone into the making ‘I’. Countless man-hours must have gone into makeup sessions for this film. And actor Vikram’s dedication deserves applause. But, none of the above can mask the fact that ‘I’ is a poorly narrated and shoddily executed film. Lavish sets, crores of money and almost three years have gone down the drain. What happened Mr. Shankar?

Putting it simple and straight, ‘I’ is a disastrous film from Telugu audience point of view. Many would feel doubtful on, how far Shankar directed this film? Except the visual grandeur sprinkled on screen, neat camera work, Vikram presence and action revenge with a foreseeable twist in pre climax, rest of everything stood as drawbacks. Immediately, there is a necessity for producers to trim the movie in both halves in order to decrease the lag. Currently, the run time is above 3 hours and it should be brought down to 2:30 hours saving the patrons.

By now one is certain about the common traits to expect in a Shankar movie. A world of his own, presented in a grand way with a high degree of visual effects and natural panache for bringing out high degree of emotions even in intricately choreographed song picturizations. However, Shankar also tends to often test your patience with some high melodrama and deliberate heavy-handed operose film making that aims for the epic.

Vikram is undoubtedly one of the biggest assets of the film. The efforts that he has put in for his role are amazing. He played three different roles in the film. He will be seen as a body builder, a model and also a deformed hunchback person. Vikram is also seen as a beast in one song. The best part of the film is Vikram performance and PC Sriram cinematography.

Finally you may watch the film for the technical brilliance, hard work of Vikram and some breath taking locales, if you are expecting a Shankar kind of magic, get ready to get disappointed.

In over three exhausting hours, we get just one human-sized moment, when Lingesan collapses in the gym due to over-exertion and we sense his desperation to win the championship. Everywhere else, I leaves us with the impression of watching a giant machine grinding away. In films like Mudhalvan, Shankar made us feel for his characters. Here, there’s nothing to make us care — nothing, except Vikram’s performance as the hunchback.

The movie I is a great project of an amazing combination of Chiyaan Vikram(Kennedy Vinod Raj),P.C.Sreeram,Shankar,A.R.Rahman and many others......The entire team Worked so hard for this movie. They worked together for 3 years rejecting many other works.
Vikram worked alot for this film.He had to put on weight for the Bodybuilder character and had to loose half of the weight to show the realistic effect of muscle shrinkage. He suffered alot for it.He said in the many recent interviews "that he used to eat half an apple and a small piece of egg, and he had gone mad with hunger after 10 in the night".He got allergy on his face due to the make over as a Man affected by a severe disease.
So please watch the movie in the theatres near by you, this hardwork deserves it. Don't encourage piracy.
Coming to the movie,we can watch it for Vikram's amazing performance. And the story line is not so bad as you read in other reviews,So please go and watch the movie......
I give 4 out of 5 for Vikram's amazing performance and the hard work behind it.......
