D for Dopidi is one film that defies the routineness of Telugu cinema, yet delivers an entertaining content. The plus points of the film are screenplay, performances, realistic yet entertaining premise.

Rating: 3.0/5
It's an absurd comedy bereft of commercial elements. You'll need to have a predisposition to wry humour to enjoy this one.
Rating: 2.75/5
‘D for Dopidi’ is a film which falls into no man’s land. It neither appeals to serious crime drama lovers nor to casual entertainment seekers. Poor execution has spoilt a promising subject and turned it into in a boring flick. Except for some decent performances and the presence of people like Nani, Tanikella Bharani and Deva Katta, this movie has nothing much to offer.
Rating: 2.75/5
D For Dopidi is a film about robbery gone wrong. And the movie is a comedy gone wrong. D for Disappointment.
Rating: 2.75/5
Small budget movies which are packed with entertainment and presenting serious subjects on a lighter tone seem to have become a trend. In this, the film has good subject with nice potential. The first half is somewhat engaging and it builds the plot aptly. The interval bang was neat but the second half comes down in terms of its energy and momentum. The overall feel of the film is enjoyable but it lacked the energy and wit to make the movie more gripping. At the box office, the film would be an average grosser but strong word of mouth can bring it success.
Rating: 2.75/5
Debut director Siraj Kalla has taken a very simple and flat line for the movie. For such a simple lined story the screenplay needs to be super strong to hold and grip the audience and not let the feeling of flatness be felt. The onus therefore falls completely on the writing to hold audience attention. It succeeds to an extent but ultimately it becomes loose cannon and fires randomly without any narrative coherence. Punches flow throughout randomly without any real impact. All the while the screenplay remains stagnant without any real movement.
Rating: 2.5/5
Finally, ‘D for Dopidi’ neither has ‘E for Entertainment’ nor ‘T for Thrills,’ it just goes long and extended for 2 hours generating ‘P for Pain’ and ‘H for Headache.’
Rating: 2.5/5
Except for Nani’s voice-over and the promotional song at the end of the movie, there is nothing exciting about the movie. It is neither gripping like a Hollywood thriller nor entertaining like the usual masala films we have in Telugu. Watch it if you have nothing to do!
Rating: 2.5/5
Debutante Siraj tried to follow Venkatadri Express route. He shortened the duartion of the film and even tried showing how amatuerish bank robbery result adding comedy aspect in it. Though he was successful at times, he failed to maintain the interest element in the film. This resulted in first half having some comedy scenes while the second half dragging towards the climax. Even the climax didnot end on a high note. Tanikella Bharani's flashback reduced the tempo of the film.Lack of commercial elements and director's weak screenplay and narration spoiled Dopidi.
Rating: 2.5/5
The film takes off promisingly and the stage looks set for some pace and energetic entertainment but inconsistency in the screenplay brought down the graph. The interval bang created some promise but as always the second half has lost out on elevating the story. Couple of shots like the accident scene or the running scene was well done but the rest of the frames were quite inferior, even the RR played a spoilsport.
Rating: 2.5/5
One time watch, if only you are bored and want to rate or review the movie then please go. And if you are a Varun’s or Sandeep’s fan please go because even I am :P.
Rating: 2.5/5
D for Dopidi is Boring and Silly film. Director is not made film up to the mark. The film drags on an on, especially in the second half. The bank robbery scenes have been handled quite poorly. The climax block is quite immature. First half of the film is quite good with bit comedy scenes. Kishan and Varun Sandesh have done a good job with what was given to them. Melanie Kannokada is just about ok.
Rating: 2.5/5
D for Dopidi, could have been a hilarious ride, if the writing wasn’t weak. Many scenes in the movie give you “So-I-need-to-laugh-to-this-silly-joke?” moments.
Rating: 2.25/5
Logic goes for a toss big time and the proceedings look silly and absurd. The film drags on and on in the second half. While the first half is a bit okay, it’s hard to sail through the second half. The script is simple on bank robbery and for such storylines, either gripping narration or entertaining quotient works. Sadly, D For Dopidi doesn’t offer enough of the two. The writers could have executed thrilling moments a way better and also, the fun factor is plainly missing despite good characterizations. The key robbery scenes are not handled well. In addition, the climax is so boring.
Rating: 2.25/5
Director wasted a good premise and setup with silly scenes and trying so hard to make it look funny. Films like these are not entirely new to our audience. We have seen better crime comedies where script is so tight and where there is room for so much comedy. Climax of the film is too bad with director taking the escapist route. At least there should have been a 'Kishkindakanda' type ending scene that cracks you up. D for Dopidi on a whole doesn't live up to the expectations and ends up as a below average film
Rating: 2.25/5
Such type of movies can be made within in a low budget. But should take care about introducing a new concept in the story line. Being an old concept and nothing new added to the movie turned to be a failure attempt.
Rating: 2.25/5
First half is better than the second half.Screen play is not good, some unnecessary plot elements, only purpose of which is to extend the length of the film and silly sequences the film looses all the interest it has created prior to the interval.
Rating: 2.0/5
First half of the film is better when compared to the second. Only positives in the film are lead performances, couple of comedy scenes and first half. On the flip side Screenplay, dragged second half and climax tear the film apart. If a proper care was taken adding a proper mix of thrills, fun and interesting second half movie would have been definitely made the difference. But as of now, movie is not upto the mark.
Rating: 2.0/5
Overall,a routine story with some comedy scenes and short duration script. This is more like a short film. The audience may not get a feel of a full length movie.Let’s wait and see how this short film reaches audience with no interesting aspects in it.
Rating: 1.75/5
The film did not live up to the hype generated by the teasers. Director Siraj depended only on comedy and so didnot concentrate on twists and thrills. He failed in his story and screenplay which would have helped the film a long way. The first half is fine but the second half dragged deviating from the main point.
Rating: --
Overall, D for Dopidi is a a good comedy entertainer and a more engrossing second half could have made it better watch. It is a Christmas treat for comedy lovers. Go and enjoy it this weekend.
