Rating: 3.5/5
The film does take some time to get take off despite beginning with a car chase (too much time is spent on establishing Sugan's flirtatious nature), there are a couple of instances that are too much of a coincidence (the people with whom Sugan and Parasu have a quarrel just happen to have a Varadarajan connection

Biriyani is that kind of movie which do not excite you or will not let you down fully. While we wouldn’t go out of our way to recommend this film, or we wouldn’t stand in anyone’s way of watching this, either.

On a whole, Biryani is partly tasty with a good ending!.

Not Completely Spicy.

Biryani will have a mixed views as movie targets on one section of audience and comedy in this flick may not impress many audience out there , But there are many aspects in this film that can make you happy watching. If you are impressed with normal comedy then you can enjoy Biryani or else you may feel bored in many scenes.

Karti performed well, nothing lagged from him. His look was very youthful. Hansika has nothing to do in the movie; she is just for the name sake. Except Nazar all actors are Tamilians. The team tried to inculcate Telugu atmosphere by replacing some telugu boards but many places Tamil hoardings are shown.

This Biriyani lacks the needed spice!!!
Rating: 2.75/5
You will be disappointed if you go in expecting sumptuous biryani, for this offering is more like fried rice.
Rating: 2.5/5
Karthi’s performance oozes with confidence. He has the capability to carry the film on his shoulders. Dubbing the Telugu version himself is one of his important strengths. Premji as the sidekick is annoying at times, but evoked lots of laughter in many places. Hansika is restricted to very few scenes. The music is a let-down too.
Rating: 2.5/5
Karthi as a performer is good and he has that natural ease in front of the camera. This time he has also worked on his body language and created good impact. Hansika looks gorgeous as usual and she knows how to use her smile when she cannot act. Premgi Amaren was a little unusual but his comic acts won’t really be liked by the Telugu audience. Nasser was natural with his performance.
Rating: 2.5/5
Biriyani entertains in parts and keeps you mildly engaged until the climax. But the ways how hero deals with his problems is not impressive. More brains were required to deal such complicated things. Venkat Prabhu might have thought that this would pass off as a comedy. But the content is too serious to take it in a funny way.

Karthis best among his last 5.
Rating: 2.5/5
Overall, an Average movie to watch over this week-end with a complete package of suspense and Comedy.

Less Pieces More Rice.
Rating: 2.5/5
The movie although dull in the first part particularly when the songs are pictured, the second part of the film is full of surprises to the audience. Director Venkat Prabhu did his best molding an ordinary story into a good entertainer.

Rating: 2.5/5
Though the film takes its own sweet time to get a move on, once it gathers momentum, there is no stopping till the end, where there is an exciting climax, as well as an anticlimax, in typical Venkat Prabhu style.

Biriyani lacks the spice that is required for success.

At the hands of an experienced chef, the Hyderabadi dum biryani with layers of meat, rice and spices cooked on slow heat will make for a winsome meal as the flavours seep through the layers. But this is ‘biriyani’. Forget the spelling, despite some good ingredients and reasonably good cooking methods, there’s something that doesn’t come together and stops this from being a delectable meal.
