It is a bizarre turn of events when the cinematography (which seems to have a huge Panjaa hangover about it) and music are more dramatic than the plot, and the narrative flow. To put it simply there is a gaping disconnect between the story and the story telling. In any case how differently can you tell the story of an underdog who rebels against an exploitative system? We've seen too many films with that plotline and even with a non-linear narrative there is hardly any element of surprise per se.
Rating: 2.5/5
Venkat Rahul looks odd in the movie, he need to improve his looks and expressions.Poor Screenplay.Direction is not upto the mark and we can not blame Daya if actors doesnt act good for a good story. No chemistry between the hero and heroine.
Rating: 2.25/5
Alias Janaki is a film that could easily have been so much better. A better hero and smarter screenplay would have helped. Neelima Thirumalasetty’s intentions are worth applauding, but she needs to take better care about the execution of her future projects.

Overall, a below average movie. it’s a waste of time and waste of money. However some might feel its a One time watchable movie without any expectations. The audience in the theater will feel bore while watching the movie.

The movie was praised in the promos as a revolutionary, message oriented and a feel good action entertainer but the presentation failed to match the interest created by the promo. Even songs were not timed properly and not picturized in a creative manner. It spoiled the charm of very well composed tunes. On the other hand, Tanikella Bharani and Naga Babu were good in their respective characters

Alias Janaki is such a film need better screen play writing. Nothing good in the movie except 20 min before climax... Movie won’t work out at Box office.
Rating: 2.0/5
Alias Janaki could have been a safe project as a feel good entertainer with a message, had the screenplay been taut and racy. The screenplay has been inconsistent with illogical proceedings. The love scenes are not properly established and the chemistry between the leads never workout, rather focuses on unnecessary aspects. Even the emotional scenes don’t work towards the proceedings. Poor performances and bad execution makes Alias Janaki tedious watch.
Rating: 2.0/5
Director’s intention behind writing script of ‘Alias Janaki’ is commendable, but failed todisplay them on screen. A talented hero could have done a good job as Janaki Ram, rather than Mega Camp’s Venkat Rahul. ‘Alias Janaki’ is neither art nor commercial.
Rating: 1.75/5
Heroine Anisha Amrose is attractive but seems to have missed the basics of acting. Naga Babu was good while Shatru did his part well. Others have no space to talk much about. Technically, Sujit Sarang’s camera work is decent while Srijith Sarang’s editing is besotted. At some point, viewers were also confused on present and past episodes unable to find the connectivity. Then music by Shravan is melodious and well picturized. Take off is quite deviating and nothing is understood till the few minutes before interval. Just before the interval, story really picks up and second half speaks on the actual stuff of social responsibility and other principles. Commercial result of Alias Janaki is definitely doubtful because there are no entertaining elements and hardly, the message imbibed in the concept should only speak. So, even Mega Fans may not be so useful here.

Direction is not up to the mark. But should the director be blamed completely if the artistes can’t act. The film has a good plot, but the team botched up the execution. Poor screenplay is one of the biggest issues in the film. Hero Characterization, itself is a big minus as hero was shown as emotionally weak person shedding floods of tears all the time.
Rating: 1.75/5
whenever films with moral values and social messages are created they should be packed with the proper type of emotional peaks and powerful performances with intensity. Both were missing in that one. Venkat Rahul looks quite odd in this particular movie. He's only one expression throughout this film which he or she must learn to emote, if he desires to proceed becoming an actor.
Rating: 1.5/5
Director Daya chose a routine script and many felt he was in dilemma as to whether to make a action entertainer or message oriented film. In the end failed in his attempt. Story goes at snails pace and first half progress like documentary. Second half picks pace and again dips at the end. Heroism if any is not elevated and even romantic track is not highlighted. Characterisation of hero is not strong as he was shown shedding tears most of the time.
Rating: 1.5/5
Alias Janaki's intentions are good. They planned to make a noble film with a strong message to the society. However, poor script as well as aimless direction made it a painful watch. The film's length is hardly two hours, but it will be pretty hard to sit through despite the short run time. Screenplay of this film is not at all impressive. Not a single scene is worthy enough to catch the attention of the viewer.
Rating: 1.5/5
Director Daya failed to extract minimum performances from the actors. One will pity him since many are new comers. His routine and monotonous script added to the woes. To the top of it he failed in his direction and screen-play. Slow pace of the film is the major drawback though the duration is just 100 minutes or so. Lack of commercial elements, unconvincing romantic elements, lack of comedy undid the film. Dialogues are quite good in the film. Characterization of hero itself is a big minus as hero was shown as emotionally weak person shedding floods of tears all the time.
Rating: 1.25/5
The first half takes off mildly and the interval bang looks a bit interesting. But again, the second half dips in its momentum and most of the scenes tend to lack any energy. Overall, this is a film which doesn’t score in any way. At the box office, it is bound to sink without trace.

When a movie is just 105 minutes length and if it could not evoke an interest in you, there can not many things to say. Alias Janaki is a disaster attempt in all possible ways. Except for the individual performances of few technicians (Cinematographer and Music director), there is nothing good about the movie. The director should be held responsible for this mishap. He failed himself and failed to make proper use of the resources in hand. My heart goes for Neelima Tirumalasetty who toiled hard for this movie.
Rating: 1.0/5
Alias Janaki touted to be an action entertainer that triggers moral revolution, movie has created expectations with its stylish presentation in posters, trailers and audio. The major grinch in Alias janaki is screenplay which is unelaborated and muzzy with scenes and characters popping out at the convenience of the scriptwriter. It was difficult to sustain interest in the course of 105 minutes. A couple of dialogues like "Duty annedi itharulakosam chesedi kadhu, commitment tho chesedhi", "Yeduti vadi balam swardam avuthe nee balam niswardam avvali" were crisp and witty but they are far in between the screenplay.
Rating: 1.0/5
One is left wondering as to what the makers tried to convey with Alias Janaki. The film tries to show how when an ordinary but honest man’s patience is put to test, change is the consequence. The land grabbing episode, which is shown as a sub plot in most movies, is dealt as the main plot in the film. But the director fails to involve the audience in the film. The characters fail to draw sympathy. Instead, one is left waiting for the film to end. To add to the pathos, a sub plot of a raped woman is also incorporated into the script. It does not help the film.

Alias Janaki has a good storyline, but the director has failed to execute it on screen and has also failed to tap out better performance from the hero. Overall, the film is an average fare.

Dhayaa has chosen an unique storyline, which has not been much explored in the past, but he has failed to execute it on the screen in a convincing way. His poor screenplay and illogical flow of the scenes does not offer a good viewing experience to the viewers. Overall, the film is below average fare. Keep yourself away.

Expecting a lot from audio songs and when it comes to video part every single thing seems hard. This is what happened in Alias Janaki , Having a great music is a best thing for a film but a bad story line and performances will effect whole film. Alias Janaki has a routine story line and you will feel bored in many scenes. Director planned to take this a classy film but failed in every part of it.
Rating: --
It's a little too loaded and preachy, besides some shallow intensity and noble intentions it has nothing much to offer.
